- (конкуренция и кредитный контроль) Тема важного документа, выпущенного в 1971 г. Банком Англии (Bank of England). В нем приводится перечень изменений, касающихся регулирования банковской системы и методов кредитного контроля. С октября 1971 г. была введена новая система резервных требований, банки согласились отказаться от практики негласных сговоров в отношении установления процентных ставок, а Банк Англии изменил характер своих операций на рынке первоклассных государственных ценных бумаг. Все эти меры были направлены прежде всего на стимулирование усиления конкуренции между банками и повышение надежности процентных ставок в качестве инструмента кредитного контроля. В 1981 г. последовали новые изменения, которые заключались в отмене минимальной ставки ссудного процента (minimum lending rate) и коэффициента резервных активов.
